Having been dreading drilling the right rear spar for a while, finally, I decided to set the incidence angle based on the measurement at half span. I drilled a 1/8" pilot hole, then #12, 7/32", 1/4", followed by a 0.3115" reamer to final size. I also reammed the left rear spar hole to final size. The AN5 bolts I got are all 0.309" dia, at low end of the tolerance for AN5 bolts. So the bolt fit is not as tight as I want. I will buy more AN5 bolts and hopefully can get some at high end of the tolerance (0.312") so the fit will tighter. But I don't think it will be an issue as is. All edge margins are greater than 5/8". An easy way to measure it is to use my steel ruler which is 1/2" wide. I put the rude edge against the AN5 bolt, if the edge of the rear spar parts is outside the edge of the ruler, the edge margin will be at least 21/32" (16/32+5/32). Glad to put this task behind me now.<<Previous | Home | Next>>
