With wings unmated, the first thing is to finish what I left on the fuel line cover support brackets. I have these brackets cleaned, and primed. Also opened the cutout for the gomet. What I found puzzling is the drawing calls for LP4-3 blind rivets to mount the brackets to the gear web plate. However, the gap between the gear web and side skin is much less than the lenght of the rivet. I tried to find some shorter rivets, but could find any. Knowing that the support bracket is not structurally important, it's just to support the cover, I went ahead riveted them using the rivets called out by the plan. This left a gap between the manufactured head and the bracket. It just looks ugly, but should be ok structurally. And this is an area no one can see once the cover is on.Nutplates are installed on the fuel line cover support brackets
Brackets are riveted
The rivets are not nicely set as you can see, but should be ok since the bracket is not structurally important
I bought the AFP fuel pump installation kit from Vans, some modification is needed. Here I trimmed the F782C cover.
