Today I first worked on the easy job of installing tail wheel. The only problem I have is the N8 nut that attaching wheel assy to the tail boom. Per standard, I should torque the nut to 400 in-lbs, but when I did, the little key for locking the wheel can't be released by the spring. So, I only torque it enough for the locking feature to work properly. I will go back to this issue later.
Inserting the gear leg to gear socket took much more effort than I thought. I first struggled on how to lift the fuselage high enough so I get enough clearance to insert the leg. I used many wood blocks to get it just high enough. I also put the fuselage on its tail wheel so the front is pointing upward for more clearance. I had to wrestle the engine mount quite bit to get the leg in. Then, I hammered (rubber one) the AN5 bolt for good.
