Did a lot of reading on the internet about the transponder antenna location. I finally decided to install the ball on the stick antenna right after the firewall, inboard of the right side fuel vent, about 2" from it. The only concern is the ground plane of the fwd is pretty short. But many builders reported that this location works just fine. I will see. The antenna is connected to the transponder using RG400 cable, and BNC and TNC connectors.

Then, I re-adjusted the wire bundle a bit, and connected the PTT wires out of the stick to the wire bundle to the avionics bay.
