Since the trimming on the front and rear edges of the sliding canopy is pretty final, I went ahead smoothed the edges. I first used a fine file to break the edge and get rid of cutting mark, then used 80 grid sand paper, 240 grid paper, and finally 600 grid sandpaper to smooth out the edges. The results look pretty good. But this is time consuming. I will need to trim the sides later, so I only broke the sharp edge, didn't spend time to smooth it.
