I want to get the control cables routed before installing engine. While double checking the drawing, I found the aft engine control bracket flange should be on top of the instrument panel flange, and the nutplates should be installed on the bracket flange (I already installed the nutplates on panel flange). After thinking about it a bit, I decided to proceed as is. The difference will the control knots will be further out, may have interference problem with the control stick in full range. But I talked with a few RV7 pilots, they said when all control systems are linked, the control stop will limit the range quite bit (one of them cut the stick short fearing the interference, but he regretted because the stops really prevent the stick range from interferencing the engine controls or instrument panel). I will see. If it really is a problem after everything is installed, I will address it later.

Also, after readying some articles on VAF, I decided to install alternate engine air. I will use a cable similar to cabin heat control cable on engine control bracket.

Engine controls, the bracket should really be rotated about vertical axis 180-deg and mounted on top of the instrument panel flange

Protective cover is installed on the hot connection to prevent accidental shorting

Protective cover is also installed on battery positive
