Just fitted F6111. At first, I thought this is going to be tough since the drawing is really not much helpful on how to do it. After searching the web, I see some people don't even both to install the reinforcement. I will figure out my way of doing it. I first trimed the lower end to match the angle of longeron, then drew center line on the out flange. Then hand hold F6111 in place and drilled the bottom hole, and clecoed it to the skin. I worked my way up one hole at a time, and clecoe all of them while going up. About half way done, I remvoed the F6111, and trimed the top end to match get clearance from F706. I had to flute the top to accommodate the fluted flange of F706 so they will fit. In the end , the results are pretty good. Then I followed the instruction to install the F750 baggage cover. After clecoing on the cover, I drilled the the three holes for LP4-3 pop rivets, but the holes on the right side cover were so off. Since the cover is not a structural part, just there to prevent rudder cable being hit by baggage, I will just use a washer type "doubler" to back up the holes. I had to mix some JB weld to glue the doubler since there is no way for me to get to the doubler when inserting pop rivets. In the end, the results were ok. I had to leave the three holes to the F706 bulkhead clecoed right now. I will rivet them when the top skins are removed.
Left F6111 is drilled
Left F6111 is trimmed and clecoe on
Left F6111 fit is pretty good
Fit at top end is tight
Fit at bottom is also good
The right side is done
The hole for LP4-3 is so off, a figture 8 is created.
Three "doublers" are fabricated. There are not real structural doubler, will not transfer load, just as a washer to get good clamping load. Since the cover is not structural part, and the load on it is low, I think this fix is sufficient
I forgot to drill the 5/8" hole for snap bushing, so glad I caught that before riveting on the cover. Otherwise, this easy job will be a big hassel
Baggage cover is riveted, except the three holes to F706 bulkhead
