09-22-2011:
Scuffed the 7 Z brackets with the nutplates installed. After cleaning with Acetone, the brackets got primed with Dupli-Color self-etching primer. Then the Z brackets were bolted to the spar using AN3-4A boltes and AN960-10L (thickness 0.032") washers. The bolts were torqued to 25 in-lbs using torque wrench.
I also started fluting the ribs for fuel tank. Not done yet, will continue tomorrow.
Added in 09-23-2011: Just realized, after reading the instruction ahead, the Z bracket will come off again for final installation to the tank baffle. There is no need to install all three bolts and torque to spec. I will put in only two bolts when building my left tank.

Solid rivets will be used for the nutplates on spar web

Manufactured head is flush with the forward side of the spar web. Using bucking bar here for solid rivets is not a problem, just need to be careful. I sprayed some primer on the countersunk holes before riveting. I could clean the primer on the web using acetone, but why bother, no one will ever see it when it's done.

Z brackets are primed bolted to the spar

I bolted all three bolts for each Z bracket, and torqued to spec. There is no need for these, since the bracket will be off and riveted to baffle of the fuel tank. Two bolts will be enough for positioning purpose.
